The Wellington Phoenix and the Western Sydney Wanderers have played out a goaless draw, at the Westpac stadium. There first game at Westpac, for close to six weeks due to World cup qualifiers, the phoenix welcomed the reigning champs in hope of causing a major upset.
It was the home side making all the play in the first half, with there Costa rican magician Carlos Hernandez having the best of chances. After the break a much more attacking wanderers side had a flurry of shots on goal, but couldn't capitalize, perhaps the best came to Mark Bridge who was alone inside the area, when his shot cannoned off the post from close range. All in all a solid peformance from the Phoenix as they look to break there winless streak, and ease the pressure on coach Ernie Merrick.
